Classic hardware design languages, such as VHDL and Verilog, were born more than 30 years ago to improve the productivity of circuit design offered by manual schematic drawing. Over the years, the effort of Digital Hardware Design has shifted from circuit design to circuit verification. Although classic HDLs have been extended to adapt to this changing scenario, they have a hard time to cope with the complexity demanded at the design and verification stages.
