Eurodoc Annual Report 2021/2022

On 10-11 June 2022, in the Eurodoc Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Vilnius in hybrid format, the National Associations (NAs) approved the release of the Annual Report 2021/2022. The Annual Report provides an essential summary of the main activities of the Eurodoc administration members 2021/2022 (Board, Secretariat, Advisory Board). In continuity with the previous administration, Eurodoc raised the awareness of the Early Career Researcher (ECR) working conditions during continued COVID-19 restrictions and increased the visibility of this issue in the media. Two years of COVID-19 pandemic brought an extraordinary burden on individuals’ private and working lives, which we found related to a high number of resignations from Administration positions this year, which quite slowed down Eurodoc activities. As Eurodoc was founded in 2002, we have been the first Eurodoc Administration in history to witness a war in Europe, and to face the urgent need to support our own members that are experiencing war in their own country. The dedication showed by many of our NAs their members, and the great effort exerted in this extraordinary situation showed once again the power of thinking and acting together. An important occasion during the term was Eurodoc 20th Anniversary, which we celebrated online in early February. With the amazing efforts of all NAs and members, one thing is certain, just as the outgoing President of Eurodoc Agnieszka Żyra put it:"We can say it out loud: We are Eurodoc!" Another main challenge during this term was an internal restructuring, aimed to equip the future Eurodoc Administrations with a more flexible and efficient internal structure. This is always a demanding and delicate process and we are deeply grateful to all Administration members that contributed to this effort, each one with the utmost dedication and generosity. Finally, the recommendations developed during the year and presented in this report were welcomed by the AGM in the Annual Goals 2022/2023 and will be carried out by the new Board coordinated by Oleksandr Berezko
