A preliminary systematic study of the Pliocene malacofauna from the Estepona area (Malaga, SE Spain) has been carried out. The results of this revision have revealed till now the presence of 841 molluscan species, 21 of which corresponding to scaphopods, 168 to bivalves and 652 to gastropods. Almost all the known Scaphopoda, Bivalvia and Gastropoda orders are represented.
