The development of finite element (FE) software and comprehensive constitutive laws made the simulation of externally bonded reinforced concrete (EB-RC) beams strengthened in shear with FRP reliable and cost-effective. The objective of the present study is to evaluate the experimental results of nine EB-RC T-beam specimens strengthened in shear with carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) by modelling them using FE software and considering the variation of strain, load, and deflection in each component of those beams, particularly, the interaction of those components during the process of loading until failure. These features give an insightful understanding of behaviour of such specimens.Paper 1
