To reduce emissions of greenhouse gasses, there should be better control of the release of CO2 due to human activities. In this study, an inexpensive material was developed as adsorbents for CO2 capture. For the preparation of activated carbon by chemical activation in a laboratory vacuum furnace with zinc chloride (ZnCl2) at 500 °C for 1 hour, sugarcane bagasse was being used as a starting material whereas kaolinite was locally obtained. These adsorbents were applied for the storage of CO2 within a range of temperatures (30 °C, 50 °C and 70°C) while the flow rate (30mL/min to 70mL/min) and column bed height (3cm – 5cm) were varied at constant temperature.
