Purpose of the Study Meaningful out-of-classroom learning activities are seen as important components in the development of desired graduate outcomes and responsible citizenship. This study assessed the motivation of college students in participating in extracurricular activities. Methodology Underpinned on the pragmatic philosophy of education, fifty students of an allied health professions institute were surveyed on their perceptions on factors (personal, interpersonal, cognitive, school and civic responsibility) that motivate them in joining extracurricular activities.
