Suitability of soybeans for organic production in varietal macroviews

Master thesis (in Serbian language) submitted to the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. English abstract: Soybean production is of great importance, because this field crop is used not only in human and animal nutrition, but also in the pharmaceutical and other branches of industry. By growing soybeans according to the methods of organic production in our country and its development, the production of sufficient quantities of quality, safe food can be achieved. However, the challenge represents the harmonization of elements of agrotechnics, with the occurrence of climatic extremes and the selection of varieties that can respond to different cultivation needs. The transition from conventional to organic production is relatively simple from a cultivation practice standpoint, especially when it comes to smaller areas. Increasing the area under organic soybean production would significantly affect the increase of total production and with quality grain processing we could become significant exporters of soybean products. The aim of this study was to determine which variety is the best in the macrotrials from the point of view of yield and morphological traits for the conditions of Vojvodina in the organic production system
