Saropogon Loew Saropogon Loew, 1847: 439 (as subgenus of Dasypogon). Type-species: Dasypogon luctuosus Wiedemann, 1820. by designation ofCoquillett (1910: 603). Sarapogon: Williston, 1889: 74, incorrect spelling. Hull (1962) provided an excellent and full redescription of the genus.
