A pre-experimental study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of an educational program on knowledge on substance abuse among student nurses. A sample of 50 nursing students, who fulfilled the inclusion criteria, were selected using systematic random sampling method. A self-administered questionnaire was used to assess the knowledge on substance abuse among student nurses. Data was collected from first year nursing students attending a selected College of Nursing, Delhi. An educational program was developed and administered to first year nursing students about substance abuse. The data analysis and interpretation was done using descriptive and inferential statistics.
