The purpose of this protocol is to report the rationale and methodology of a systematic review of CPGs on the diagnostic and therapeutic management of SE in adults. The aims of this systematic review will be to 1) appraise the quality of CPGs, assuming that the Applicability domain may be particularly overlooked; 2) outline commonalities and discrepancies in recommendations; 3) highlight research gaps in the management of SE. This protocol is following the methodology suggested by Johnston et al.
