Introduction: Statins are powerful lipid-lowering drugs that have been shown to be effective in preventing heart disease and reducing the risk of death and heart attack. It is unclear whether hyperlipidemic patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting benefit from the lipid-lowering effects of statins.
