Bone age estimation is a method of assigning a biological maturity level to an individual. The need of age estimation of the individual becomes important especially in clinical and forensic practices. Bone age estimation is used to estimate chronological age in condition where birth records are not available. It is also used in cases of unregistered child and juvenile court cases. In addition, bone age estimation is used to diagnose growth problem of the children.
