Imatinib, is an oral chemotherapy medication used to treat cancer. Specifically, it is used for chronic myelogenous leukemia and acute lymphocytic leukemia that are Philadelphia chromosome-positive, certain types of gastrointestinal stromal tumors, hypereosinophilic syndrome, chronic eosinophilic leukemia, systemic mastocytosis, and myelodysplastic syndrome.
