The main purpose of the present chapter is to provide practical guidance with regard to selecting a suitable data repository for research data. The chapter might be helpful for researchers, librarians, and research support staff. Choosing a research data repository (RDR) that is appropriate for research data can be challenging and may be influenced by various factors such as the specific character of the data, requirements imposed on the researchers by third parties, e.g. a funding agency or publisher.
