This report describes the currently used data management and reporting systems for public health data, specifically Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC), Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC), Cryptosporidium and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Salmonella and Campylobacter spp., in the European Union. Inefficiencies and the loss of key data required to support the work of EFSA and other key stakeholders in food safety policy development are identified and discussed. Finally, solutions in the form of 3 recommendations are proposed including hardware and software harmonisation, reporting requirements and lost data, and the development of a centrat data hub. If implemented, better use could be made of the valuable data being gener...
