SandhigataVata is a commonest form of articular disorder which come under VataVyadhi mentioned in Ayurvedic classic characterized by the symptoms such as Sandhi Sula, SandhiSopha (swelling of joint). Osteoarthritis of the knee joints comes under inflammatory group which is almost identical to SandhigataVata described in ayurveda with respect to etiology, pathology and clinical feature.
