Form I-9 is used to verify someone's identify and job permission when they are hired in the United States. Each person hired for work in the United States by a U.S. employer must have their Form I-9 properly completed. This includes both citizens and noncitizens. Both employers (or authorized agents of employers) and employees must complete the form. On the form, an employee must certify their employment authorization.
