Ulcerative gastrointestinal bleeding is the most frequent emergency in digestive endoscopy. Management is based on the initiation of an infusion of proton pump inhibitors as soon as the diagnosis is mentioned. Upper endoscopy should be performed as quickly as possible under the best technical conditions. Two combined techniques of endoscopic hemostasis, most often by injection of reduced adrenaline and placement of clips, allow hemostasis in most situations. In case of failure, a new endoscopy can be proposed. Surgery and interventional radiology have a place in second or even third line treatment.
