ART ASSOCIATIONS OF THE CENTRAL CHERNOZEM REGION IN THE LATE XIX – FIRST THIRD OF THE XX CENTURY

The article discusses the emergence and development of artistic associations in the Central Black Earth Region before their unification in the early 1930s. Artistic life in provincial cities arose with the arrival of volunteers from the Imperial Academy of Arts. In Voronezh, this is L.M. Soloviev, in Kursk - A.K. Damberg, it was they who became the center of regional public art associations of the late XIX century. In Voronezh, the first circles of art lovers and the Voronezh free drawing school arose. The institutionalization of art associations in Orel and Kursk ended with their registration at the beginning of the 20th century. World War I, the revolution, and the Civil War led to the fading or liquidation of creative associations. However, revolutionary transformations stirred up the artistic environment. These events opened a bright page of artists' self-expression in the conditions of NEP Russia. Various associations, unions, clubs, partnerships of artists arise. The most numerous were branches of All-Russian art associations - the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia and the Youth Association of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia. In 1932, all creative associations were liquidated, with the exception of the state Soviet art association, the Union of Artists of the USSR, which arose in 1931
