The study is a comprehensive synthesis of information on 26 known Hungarian species of Zygae-nids. This work is used as a guide for the distribution maps of the Zygaenidae species. It is the second sum-mary work on the geographical distribution of Hungarian species. The preparatory work for this study was started 40 years ago with planned collecting activities, revisions of museum, institutional and private collec-tions, and writing of faunistic monographs on Zygaenids from several geographic regions.
