The main intent of this study is to investigate different turbulent models and aerodynamics characteristics of an airfoil. The paper deals with the calculation of viscous flow around a wing profile using OpenFOAM software and a comparison is made between obtained results with the experimental data. The geometry was simplified into a 2D airfoil and the viscous flow field were analyzed at a Reynolds number 3.0×106. The chosen airfoil for this experiment is low Reynolds number NREL S809 airfoil.
