The purpose of the study was to determine if PhD scholars' sense of general self-efficacy (GSE) influences the relationships between career adaptability challenges and emotional intelligence (EI). For this study, 240 Pakistani PhD candidates between the ages of 26 and 40 were selected at random using a cross-sectional design and simple random sampling. The emotional intelligence, general self-efficacy, and career adaptability challenges were evaluated using instruments. The strongest correlation was between GSE and the careers adaptability (r =.59, p<.01).
