Manuscript received 6 September 1975 ; revised 3 December 1975; accepted 5 July 1976 Lead tetra-monochloroacetate and tin tetra-monochloroacetate have been isolated and used as oxidising agents for the determination of As3+,Sb3+,Ce3+ and Fe2+. Iodine, potassium permanganate and potassium dichromate have also been used as oxidising agents for the determination of above ions in fused monochloroacetic acid medium. The course of these redox reactions have been followed potentiometrically. Visual titrations without indicator are possible when iodine, potassium permanganate and potassium dichromate in monochloroacetic acid are used as the titrant
