Tolypocladium W. Gams, Persoonia 6(2): 185 (1971) Tolypocladium used to be known as an asexually genus since it was described (Gams 1971) until Hodge et al. (1996) linked one sexual species to this genus. This genus was transferred in the family Ophiocordycipitaceae based on phylogenetic analyses (Sung et al. 2007).
