In recent years, PE has been increasingly gaining ground, especially following the advent of neural machine translation (NMT) models. However, translators still approach PE with caution and skepticism and question its real benefits. This study investigates the perception of both experienced and novice translators vis-à-vis PE, it compares the technical, temporal and cognitive effort expended by experienced translators during the full PE of NMT output with the effort expended by novice translators, focusing on the English-Greek language pair and explores potential differences in the quality of the post-edited texts.
