The thesis has 79 basic text pages, structured in introduction, two chapters, conclusions, source bibliography, annexes, figures and tables. The thesis reveals the emergence, development and implementation of Modern Library Services. Delivering (providing) modern library services is an important chapter in the work of each library. The paper emphasizes the importance of Modern Library Services, delivered in accordance with the needs and users demands, taking into account the available information resources, as well as the modern technologies. Purpose of the paper: to identify and study modern library services provided by the public libraries in the Republic of Moldova, theoretically and practically. Objectives of the paper: studying Modern Library Services under theoretical and practical aspects; identifying and estimating the importance of the provision of Modern Library Services in public libraries in the Republic of Moldova; research on the variety of Modern Library Services provided by public libraries in the Republic of Moldova; current situation analysis of the in the public libraries of the Republic of Moldova regarding the provision of Modern Library Services; identifying the advantages of implementing Modern Library Services in public libraries in the Republic of Moldova. Methodology of research: The following methods of scientific research were applied in order to achieve the master thesis: analysis of the publications on the topic, current observation of the Modern Library Services rendered in the public libraries of the Republic of Moldova, investigation of the specialists from the national, municipal, rayon, town, regional and communal public libraries. Also, were used general theoretical-empirical methods like analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction. The future of libraries is the provision of Modern Library Services, based on the needs of community members. The case study focused on studying the provision of Modern Library Services in the "Alexandru Donici" Rayonal Public Library in Orhei. The analysis found that the vast majority of users are satisfied with the services provided. This research highlighted the importance of the provision of Modern Library Services in Orhei. Services currently available in public libraries needs to become more varied, continually improved and with greater impact in the community. Teza dezvăluie apariţia, dezvoltarea și implementarea SMB. Livrarea SMB este un capitol important în activitatea fiecărei biblioteci. Lucrarea accentuează importanţa SMB, livrate în concordanţă cu necesităţile, solicitările utilizatorilor, ţinând cont de resursele informaţionale disponibile, dar şi de tehnologiile moderne. Scopul lucrării: identificarea şi studierea SMB prestate de bibliotecile publice din RM, în aspect teoretico-practic. Obiectivele lucrării: studierea SMB sub aspect teoretic şi practic; identificarea şi estimarea importanţei prestării SMB în bibliotecile publice din RM (RM); cercetarea varietăţii SMB prestate de bibliotecile publice din RM; analiza situaţiei actuale în bibliotecile publice din RM privind prestarea SMB; identificarea avantajelor implementării SMB în bibliotecile publice din RM. Metodologia de cercetare: Pentru realizarea tezei de master au fost aplicate următoarele metode de cercetare ştiinţifică: analiza publicaţiilor la temă, observarea curentă a SMB prestate în bibliotecile publice din RM, anchetarea specialiştilor din bibliotecile publice naţionale, municipale, raionale, orăşeneşti, regionale şi comunale. De asemenea, au fost utilizate metodele teoretico-empirice generale: analiza, sinteza, inducţia, deducţia. Viitorul bibliotecilor este prestarea SMB, bazate pe necesitățile membrilor comunității. Studiul de caz s-a axat pe studierea prestării SMB în Biblioteca Publică Raională ,,Alexandru Donici” Orhei (BPR “A. Donici” Orhei). În urma analizei constatat că marea majoritate a utilizatorilor sunt satisfăcuţi de serviciile prestate. Cercetarea dată a scos în evidenţă importanţa prestării SMB în municipiul Orhei. Serviciile care se prestează la etapa actuală în bibliotecile publice trebuie să devină mai variate, îmbunătăţite continuu și cu impact mai mare în comunitate.
