Background: Diabetic neuropathy (DN) is caused by hyperglycaemia which results in behavioral impairment, oxidative stress and inflammation. Objective: The present study investigates the ameliorative effect of astaxanthin (AX) in brain tissue via modulating the inflammatory cytokines in diabetic neuropathic mice. This study was conducted by inducing diabetes in mice using STZ (40mg/kg i.p). To study ameliorative effect of AX on levels of TAS, TOS, OSI and expression of KLFs in brain tissue were analysed.
