This paper aims to compare and examine life at the times of Sangam literature with reference to the devotional hymns “Devaram”. The mode of the epithet is compared and highlighted to explain the changes that the epithets underwent during the period of devotional literature. In this period, the status of the fivefold love has been changed and how the feelings of love are expressed, and the adjective (Uriporul) has been changed into a dependent object to explain the religion. Uriporul is essential in the structure of Sangam internal songs. This is the life substance of the songs.
