Evaluation of the Activities in the 5th Grade Turkish Textbooks According to the Revised Bloom Taxonomy

The constructivist approach is based on the idea that knowledge can never be passed from one person to another. The way to acquire knowledge is to construct them. The constructivist approach aims to provide experiences through which learners make a connection and construct meaning. The learners interact with the learning environment and the learning community to gain experiences. Now, in our country, the constructivist approach is taken as a bases and curricula and textbooks are prepared in accordance with this approach. This research is about the evaluation of 5th grade Turkish textbook activities according to the revised Bloom Taxonomy. Document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research. Within the scope of the research, the activities in the 5th grade Turkish textbook were examined according to the revised Bloom Taxonomy. During the data collection process, the 5th grade Turkish textbook was utilized. For this reason, no sample selection was made and all the activities in the book were used as data sources. Descriptive analysis technique was applied to analyse the data. The study findings were presented in table form as theme, text, activity and the level in taxonomy of activity. As a result of the research in the 5th grade Turkish textbook, it was concluded that the activities for all levels of the revised Bloom Taxonomy were included, but that the higher-level steps were insufficient and some suggestions were made in this regard
