The data for the manuscript: A Lagrangian-based Floating Macroalgal Growth and Drift Model (FMGDM v1.0): application in the green tides of the Yellow Sea. The space range of ECS-FVCOM simulation output data was limited to 32.0°-38.0°N, 119°-125°E in , and the data from 1 May to 31 August in 2014 and 2015 was included in the result. In order to limit the file size, the result data were cut to 4 parts by month in one year. The variables, u, v, temp, salinity, short_wave, uwind, vwind, h, etc, were provided in the files, which include the force data and ocean depth of ECS-FVCOM and the required input variables of FMGDM. All the data were only used to the simulation cases of the manuscript by Zhou and Ge
