Abstract Methylene blue dye was degraded by using graphene oxide and aluminium oxide nanoparticles and with their nanocomposites. Graphene oxide and aluminium nanoparticles were synthesized by using modified Hummers method, sol-gel method respectively. Degradation of methylene blue of different concentrations was determined using graphene oxide and aluminium oxide nanoparticles and the absorbance value was evaluated using UV spectrometer Evaluation of methylene blue degradation and their characterization are analysed by using FTIR & SEM.The maximum degradation achieved by Graphene oxide nanoparticles is 99.6% andthe maximum degradation achieved by Aluminium oxide nanoparticles is 95.9%.
