In this work we systematize reflections about pain that Spinoza makes in his Ethics with a double purpose: the exegesis of his texts and the dialogue with other contemporary inquiries about the conceptualization and treatment of pain. In this sense, we maintain that from the Spinozian scheme we can produce explanations of the phenomenon of pain that attend to its complex nature and, in addition, obtain therapeutic suggestions. We organize the work into three large sections. In the first we reconstruct the Spinozian concept of «affect». In the second, we investigate his concept of pain and his relationship with contemporary categories. In the third we suggest therapeutic lines from Ethics
