D i s t r i b u t i o n. Cosmopolitan. Europe: Great Britain, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, NW Russia, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary (Zuska, 1984); Switzerland (Merz, 1996); North America: Canada, USA (McAlpine, 1977). D i a g n o s i s. This species can be recognized by the mesonotal scutum with three longitudinal rows of stronger setulae on small tubercles (not present in other piophilids), but no presutural supra-alar seta; fore and hind femora mostly black; thoracic spiracle small and slit-like.Published as part of Misiachna, A.
