This presentation describes a Privacy-by-Design smart-toy platform based on an Edge-AI sensing nodes and a low-power compute hub. By performing the analysis of computer vision and speech data from human subjects on sensing nodes based on a state-of-the-art neural accelerator chipset this platform avoids storing or transmitting personally identifiable biometric data outside of the smart-toy. This enables a high level of confidence with respect to GDPR compliance, an important requirement for a consumer platform that interacts with children to provide novel and engaging play experiences
