Presentation at the Wind Energy Science Conference 2021 Lidar-assisted control (LAC) has been so far successfully tested for onshore wind turbines and shows promising potential to reduce the LCOE of large offshore wind turbines [1]. This approach is also considered promising for floating offshore wind turbines (FOWT) [3]. However, due to the high motion of the whole system and the blockage of laser beams by the blades, the baseline lidar data processing (LDP) algorithms currently implemented on lidar devices provide a highly disturbed wind speed preview signal.
