These Guidelines represent part of an initiative by the Intergovernmental Panel in Climate Change (IPCC) Task Group on Scenarios for Climate Impact Assessment (TGCIA) to improve consistency in the selection and application of scenarios in climate impact and adaptation assessments and, in so doing, to reduce the time lag of information exchange between the different scientific communities. They offer guidance on the interpretation and application of scenario data in impact and adaptation assessment.
