Abstract. Present article is to shed light on the semantic use of modal auxiliaries, namely will, would, can/could, shall /should, must, may /might and ought. The researchers have tried to pinpoint the mistakes that the students make in using the above – mentioned auxiliaries, and find the proper methods that help them to improve their performance
