The prevalence of HIV in Bangladesh is not alarming but the trend is. Every year the number of newly diagnosed infection is increasing along with the number of death due to AIDS and AIDS associated diseases. Prevalence has been found quite high among the injection drug users and the migrant workers. Particular populations, such as, homosexuals, transgender people are under-represented in the HIV studies and surveillances and these populations are the one most at risk. Due to the conservative society standard, these populations tend to stay underground.
