The use of finite element analysis in manufacturing has enabled the development of several new sheet metal forming processes. Recent advances have enabled the localized deformation to be accurately controlled using CNC technology. Single point incremental forming has the potential to revolutionize sheet metal forming, making it accessible to all levels of manufacturing. This paper describes the validation of single point increment forming of pyramidal cups with the experimental grid-based deformation.
