This essay discusses the complexity of Environmental Education in the commitment and social responsibility of individuals in order to minimize the impacts caused by anthropic action on the environment. In this sense, Environmental Education inserted in formal, informal and non-formal education guided by the method of complexity seeks to understand the relationships between society, man and nature and allow one to rethink reality in a complex way, defining it as a new rationality and a space capable of articulating science, nature, culture based on individual and collective attitudes in postmodernity
