In this paper the relationship between body, motion and sound is addressed. The comparison with traditional instruments and dance is shown with regards to basic types of motion. The difference between gesture and movement is outlined and some of the models used in dance for structuring motion sequences are described. In order to identify expressive aspects of motion sequences a test scenario is devised. After the description of the methods and tools used in a series of measurements, two types of data-display are shown and the applied in the interpretation.
