The acquisition of nursing skills is one of the essential learning competencies for nursing students. One way of promoting teaching through competitive play this is via the Team Game Tournament (TGT) method, a teaching strategy based on the team based learning approach that creates a lively and fun tournament-like atmosphere to facilitate learning. Pedagogy built on the theoretical foundations of the TGT’s composition and principles; the activities of a three-week medical-surgical nursing technology course were formulated to include teaching plan design instructions, TGT steps and procedures, and skill assessment tools.
