Mirror neurons system influence on anticipation, coping, and subjective well-being in late age

The article presents the results of a study of the effect of the system of mirror neurons on anticipation, proactive coping behavior and subjective well-being in elderly people. The study involved 40 people (mean age 72.9 ± 8.21 years), 20 of them with cerebrovascular disorders (F 06.7), and 20 people were healthy individuals. According to the results of structural equation modeling, it was found that all four subsystems of mirror neurons (motor, tactile, acoustic and emotional) form a single factor that determines the accuracy of anticipation and its speed characteristics. In turn, anticipation has a positive effect on proactive coping, reflective coping, strategic planning and preventive coping. These proactive coping strategies have a direct impact on the total score of subjective well-being in elderly people. The data obtained demonstrate the dependence of successful aging not only on the characteristics of stress-overcoming behavior, but also on some neuropsychological and neurophysiological factors
