Graphic novels are becoming popular among the twenty-first century readers. It is recognised as an important form of literature and has found place in the syllabus of several universities. It has become a valuable tool to improve the language skills of the students. Several graphic novels which are made into movies and series have captivated the younger generation. This paper tries to analyse the meaning, scope, characteristics, importance and challenges of graphic medium as an educational tool
