Nation-states have undertaken particular international obligations through treaties, and to some extent, a few of those obligations might be derogated due to an emerging situation. The article analyzes the violations of peremptory norms, International Humanitarian Law principles and rules, and International Human Rights Law norms applicable to Armenia during an armed dispute. The article distinguishes the scope and rationale of the ban on the use of force in the example of the armed conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan
