Abstract The objective of presenting this executive summary of the CAFTA-DR. The investigation is to determine the advantages or benefits that it has brought to the economy of the Dominican Republic. Also, analyze its disadvantages, and what is the purpose of the treaty in terms of negotiation between the countries that comprise it. What is the vision for the future? In addition, it will try to prove if there are winners and losers in the free trade agreement and what they are, if it has been profitable for the country if exports and imports have increased. In this context, the investigation will focus in addition to the aforementioned in determining the tariff dismantling, if these are being fulfilled, what is the projection in terms of time. In that sense, what have been the terms granted by the World Trade Organization (WTO), also analyze the policies regarding the agreement and indicate if there is protectionism by the Dominican state, and for what products; among others
