The study examined some human resource management variables and academic staff job effectiveness in the university of Calabar in Cross River State, Nigeria. To achieve the aim of this study, two research questions were raised and two hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. A correlational research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study comprises all the academic staff in the University of Calabar. The total number of all the academic staff is three thousand eight hundred and sixty (3860).
