Blood donors screened positive HIV will be called for counselling and further management in our tertiary centre in Perak, Malaysia. Nucleic acid testing (NAT) and serological testing are use as screening and detection of HIV among blood donors. A cross-sectional study was undertaken from May to December 2020 by reviewing the existing blood donors database of Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, Ipoh, Perak, that handle more than 314000 blood bags during the study period. 97 individuals tested positive with HIV, all of them donated whole blood and the median age is 30 years old.
