Biochemical changes to occur during seed storage and seed germination. Many food reserves in seeds interact during metabolism prior to germination. Proteolytic enzymes present in the endosperm and cotyledon, hydrolyze the reserve proteins into pet ides and finally into amino acids. The amino acids are then translocated into the growing embryo.
