The presence of diabetes in HF patients portends worse prognosis than does HF without DM. Heart failure in diabetes mellitus (DM) in the absence of conventional risk factors such as hypertension, coronary artery disease (CAD), and congenital or valvular heart disease, has been defined in the literature as diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM). The question what are the link between DM and DCM? The answer of this question is not well understood.
